Suzie was confiscated by the Conservation Society of Sierra Leone from an animal dealer in Freetown in 1995, at the age of one. One of the original Tacugama chimps, she is a dominant female and is one of Tito's closest allies. In 2017, Suzie surprised us all by giving birth to her daughter Sonia, who has mellowed Suzie's behaviour but made her a fierce maternal protector. Suzie shares her care of Sonia with (suspected) father Tito, and aunties Gabie & Ezme.
