Solo's mother was shot by a hunter for food and he lost the tops of his two left fingers in the process. He was sold to a pet owner who kept him for 4 years before being confiscated by the police from Bo. Solo is one of our smartest chimps and can escape almost any enclosure - best known for his pole vaulting skills! He is also one of our most trained chimps and works with some of our care staff on this training. Solo now lives in our high-security enclosure with a few other highly intelligent individuals!
