Salva was confiscated from a small village in the Gola East Forest Reserve after some resistance due to poor education on wildlife ownership laws. He is estimated as born in 2004, and is second in command to Gorilla, although Gorilla gets all the girls. He is very protective of his food and loves to play and swing on rope.
