Mortes arrived in Tacugama in March 2021 and was handed over to Tacugama by a local diamond mine worker from the Kono district. Mortes was just 1 year and a half when he arrived at the sanctuary. Mortes has become a very social and funny chimp, but always be careful when you are walking around his enclosure because this clever one loves to throw stones at humans. That’s his biggest game and he is getting very good at it, so watch out!
