Jackie arrived in Tacugama in April 2017. Her origins are still unknown as she was confiscated from a compound close to Freetown. She was brought to the attention of Tacugama’s team by a young visitor. Abraham had come to the sanctuary and just learnt keeping chimpanzees as pets was illegal and stood up for Jackie. She arrived critically dehydrated and underweight. After some time at the nursery, last year was time for her to get introduced to a new group, so she got integrated into Zack’s. Everything is going well.
