A visit from a local school

Visitors' waiting area

Now that we have concluded our maintenance activities, we are ready to resume our daily 4:00 pm tours.

Sanctuary tours start at 10:30am and 4:00pm all year round.

As we cannot accommodate late arrivals, our suggested time of arrival is 15 minutes prior to each tour.

The tours are timed to coincide with feeding to give you the best opportunity to observe the chimpanzees. Tours start promptly and
last approximately 90 minutes. Allow about 40 minutes to get to us from the western side of Freetown and plan to arrive around 15 minutes ahead of the tour time.
The tours take place on foot, following forest footpaths. Please wear comfortable clothing/footwear and remember to bring your rain gear in the rainy season. You are welcome to bring your camera as there are good opportunities to take the perfect picture.

We have a small gift shop at the sanctuary where cold drinks, snacks, postcards and a wide variety of local crafts are available for purchase.
