SOLD OUT!!
In 2006 Bruno, an alpha male chimpanzee, escaped from the Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary in Sierra Leone and vanished into the jungle. Orphaned by hunters, he had spent his life among humans and survived the ravages of Sierra Leone’s civil war before his disappearance. Today he is a local legend. Author Paul Glynn has turned Bruno’s astonishing story into a children’s book. Written for 9-12 year olds, and with over forty detailed illustrations, King Bruno tells of Bruno’s relationship with the man who adopted him, his adventures in the human world and his journey to freedom. It educates young people about chimpanzees, conservation and development as well as touching on deeper themes of family, identity and growing up that children of all ages can relate to. A portion of the proceeds from King Bruno will go towards supporting the sanctuary.
