Fifteen years of Tacugama

Help us build our Fifteen for 15 Campaign

September 2010 will mark 15 years since the founding of Tacugama. More than ever we need to find funding sources to secure Tacugama’s future and the welfare of all our residents as we enter an essential phase of work to build on the census results and develop environmental guardianship for the future. Working with communities, investigating and promoting alternative and sustainable income generating activities will be important components of reducing human-wildlife conflict and securing conservation plans.
You can help us by telling your family, friends and colleagues about Tacugama and finding 15 people who can each donate 15 Euros, US Dollars or Pounds Sterling and join in our Fifteen for 15 Campaign. That’s just one pound, dollar or Euro for every year that Tacugama has been open. If we can find 300 people to join our campaign each with 15 supporters then we can build our much needed enclosures and make sure that Tacugama can continue to support law enforcement and rescue chimpanzees in need. Another 450 people each bringing 15 supporters will secure Tacugama’s running costs for one year and allow us to focus our fundraising efforts with major donors on projects to improve the life of Sierra Leone’s communities through conservation of important habitats and natural resources.
Please join our Fifteen for 15 Campaign and make a difference today.
